What has never happened before has now happened. SpaceX, a company owned by Elon Musk, has achieved a huge achievement on Sunday by cutting the massive booster stage from its Starship rocket in a dual robotic arms as it returned back from the SpaceX launchpad in southern Texas. And not only that, the rocket booster was flying 233 feet in the air and back into its launch site but also cutting the rocket in mid-air with two giant mechanical arms.
This was the fifth test flight of the Starship rocket in which the Starship rocket performed brilliantly and due to which SpaceX has moved one step ahead.
NASA Contract With Space X
NASA is paying SpaceX $4 billion to SpaceX to use its Starship rocket to help take astronauts to reach the surface of the Moon and back in its to the launch station is know as Artemis program. Elon Musk’s company makes the world’s largest and most powerful rockets and their main focus is that their rockets should be reusable and can be brought back to fly again, which will benefit both money and time.SpaceX has contracted with NASA to supply modified Starship to carry astronauts to land on the surface of the Moon’s South Pole in the agency’s Artemis program
To launch Starship, SpaceX requires approval from the Federal Aviation Administration. After the booster successfully pushed Starship into the dangerous part of the atmosphere, suddenly it dropped away as Starship continued to head toward space. The rocket booster has 33 engines that help to propel itself back to the launch site as it falls from the sky at high speeds.
SpaceX Fifth Test
SpaceX says the fifth test flight of Starship was delayed by a few months due to unnecessary paperwork, and the F.A.A. says it delayed because it was giving as much attention to public safety as it could get. They also say at one point the agency was not going to approve SpaceX’s flight until late November with a sign-off from the U.S. Forest and Wildlife Services on environmental issues, with the launch site in Texas being a major factor in the flight’s delay.Than Elon Musk pressured the agency complete all its reviews faster, approval came on Saturday for the flight on Sunday.
In September, the F.A.A. fined SpaceX $633,000 for violations during launches of the Falcon 9 rockets last year Many people have complained that the SpaceX launch site in Boca Chica, Texas, feels very heavy noise and vibration from the launch and landing of the heavy booster, which is a very intense sound during test flights.Starship was lifted off the launch tower in the morning from the Starbus Facility at 7:25 a.m.
The retro-looking spacecraft was launched by the booster around the world that rose to a height of 212 kilometers. And after a brief liftoff, it successfully landed in the Indian Ocean with a controlled landing, adding to the day’s achievement.Starship was guided with the combination of computer systems using some sensors that help the rocket navigate so that the rocket has no problem finding its direction.
The Starship program is designed for traveling space more and Starship is fully usable which can be used for space travel many times and because of this any person can return to Earth from space successfully.SpaceX is evolving itself day by day and has gone a long way by challenging the technology and setting new records. SpaceX is the first company that develops Reused rockets and has signed many contracts with NASA for sending modified rockets for traveling to space.
SpaceX has developed several rockets such as the Falcon 1, Falcon 9, and Falcon Heavy rockets, which have successfully delivered to orbits and beyond. The Falcon 9 is known for its ruggedness, which has significantly reduced launch costs.
